In the realm of infinite possibilities which exist in a universe of infinite spirit, it is the choosing of where we are going and what we really want that is the challenge. If you knew with certainty that anything and everything was possible, what would you choose? Who would you be and what would you think about?
In Luke 12:32 we read '… it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom … where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.'
Your treasure is what you think about. It is what you dream about, put your attention on and focus on. It is what you are bringing into your experience every day. If you are not sure what you are thinking about, worrying about and focussing on, look around you. You have brought what you have into your experience as surely as Jesus did and demonstrated. He said, 'The Father that is in me, He doeth the works.'
So, if you want something different, you have to think differently, you have to change your 'treasure' and focus only on it with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Then it becomes your treasure and it is your Father's good pleasure to bring it into your experience. Only doubt not!
It can be rather daunting to think that what is in our experience we have somehow drawn to us but often we have drawn these things into our experience because we are seeking something better, something different, something higher. To get rid of the old 'treasure' we have to destroy it so that the new birth of a new idea, a higher idea, can come into being.
Congratulations to the Huntingtower Swimming Team on a fantastic performance in the EISM Swimming Carnival. Once again, our team has emerged victorious and this gives Huntingtower the amazing record of winning the EISM Swimming Carnival for the last 10 years in a row. It was a very exciting event with every school targeting us - we were definitely the school they wanted to beat. Every swimmer swam his or her heart out and, in the end, we won by 71 points with Luther College coming in second place. Grateful thanks to Helen Aden, Brendan Powell and all the swimming coaches. To Mr Green, Miss Buhagiar, Mrs Hender and all the other teachers who assisted we express our thanks for a wonderful season. The House Music Festival has seen our new Director of Music, Mrs Christine Cochrane, setting the scene. The quality of music we have heard has been amazing and I congratulate all the soloists on their dedication and thank them for sharing their music with us. The final night of the House Music Festival was held at Robert Blackwood Hall and the standard presented by soloists, ensembles, large House Choirs and House Orchestras was excellent.
Congratulations to Warrell House on winning the House Music Trophy once again and to all the houses for the beautiful music.
Grateful thanks go to the Music Department, Mrs Sutton, Miss Perry and Mrs Cochrane.
It was wonderful to see so many old and new faces at the P&F AGM at which Stuart Canning was re-elected as Chairman. The Welcome to Parents Evening presented by the P&F was a very joyous occasion with families sitting around the quadrangle enjoying a picnic with sausages cooked by staff and parents and listening to beautiful music provided by some very talented student singers and performers. Thank you to all who attended and assisted.
Congratulations to all the Junior School athletes who competed in the Junior House Athletics Carnival last week and well done to Ruthven House on winning the event.
